my arms are vast and untamed
my reach, limitless
I can feel my depths ever unchained
my soul, restless
my fingers grasping for the earth
followed by retreat
my ever-present and unsatisfied thirst
mightier than a fleet
endless borders always changing
my path undefined
erratic surface prone to raging
but there upon my varied fringes
the silly mortals play
to breach my walls their hope hinges
on their knees they pray
will they survive my fearsome wrath?
or perish, lost below?
will adventurous men, their courage last?
or in fear let go?
I am the depths, the mighty roaring sea!
crashing, wrecking all
none can contend with my tempest fury
thrashing, slashing squall
will you, oh man dare to test your fate?
and face the dark waves, mine?
may all who come to rescue, late
see on your face death’s shine
alas, I will now and forever more
here lie beneath the waves
as cresting tide, ebbs and flows to shore
adding these, my ocean graves
